Be a priest for Vancouver

Discernment basically means “hearing the call” and trying to figure out where God might be calling you to serve Him. It is a life-long process of growth and listening to how God moves the heart in a new way of service. It begins in one’s heart – but it also involves other people, especially in the Church.

Examining yourself is a good way to begin discernment of priesthood.

Then I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I. Send me!”

“Attending a live-in at Seminary of Christ the King has been the most important part of my discernment. Although I had many questions and only a rough idea of what seminary life was like, being able to actually experience the life itself helped me to clear my doubts about the priestly vocation and what the seminary is all about.”

Mark Villar

Attending a live-in at SCK was my first step in actively discerning God’s vocation for my life. There’s only so far you can go feeling, thinking, or praying about something. Eventually God will ask you to move and to trust! Take the first steps of faith.”

Gabriel Canizares

“Attending the live-in and experiencing seminary life for a weekend, really helped me in taking the next steps in my discernment. While there, I could feel God, and actually had the time to listen to where He was calling me.”

John Krump

We’d love to have you at our next seminary live-in! Fill out the form below and we’ll email you about the upcoming spiritual weekend.
